Technique: Painting applied to the wooden rod, paper folding.

A person I know well wanted to offer this old sculpture to his sister. But he found it too sad, and certainly discolored.
He asked me to give it some colors.
I wanted to ceremonialize my intervention beforehand, thinking about the (unknown) origin of this piece, its author, its symbolism.
I wanted to respect its ethics as much as possible and did not want to be in cultural reappropriation, so I took care to be aware of each of my gestures.
Wanting to celebrate the form of this beautiful cousin mammal, I took a meticulous time to adorn this beautiful animal.
Follow its lines, its contours, and create a protective adornment for it.

The act was to come and deposit colored dots with the tip of a piece of beech. Highlight its forms to enhance it, make it a guardian, a god, a goddess, a protector
I hope that strength and hope, a call to protect the living and love radiate from it.
Applying these meticulous points to its body was a psycho-magical act.
I hesitated for a long time before sharing this creation but this animal has something to say and I want to say to protect them, all of them, these living and precious beings who disappear before our eyes, because of our actions.

Thanks to Jean-Philippe for his regular support.
