2021:
Techniques: Stainless steel birds folded by hand with Love, perforated with patience and painted with joy. Fixed to the wall thanks to a certain musculature: ladder and perforator: dowel and screw.
Marseille, La plaine district /Cours Julien: Rue Bussy l’indien and private terrace towards the old port: In my beloved city of Marseille, which welcomed me in the early 2000s, I first lived in the plain, in a large shared apartment… Between my home and Cours Julien (well before the plain was redone), there is Rue Bussy l’indien whose name I love. I don’t know, alas, its history… Let’s hope that there is not yet an episode of colonization and/or imperialism behind this.
In this street, a friend: JB has his physiotherapy practice.
JB wanted a piece for his home, on his terrace…
But I admit that I don’t like to create “indoor” frescoes for individuals, except in exceptional cases…
And here, I made an exception: because of friendship, and because I asked him to let me customize his storefront in this mythical street, and thus take a nice little place, in the middle of the graffiti and tags: a small spot accessible only to scale…
Left a souvenir here in Marseille, even if the section of wall is very small, it’s a little wink to this magical city that taught me to tame my wildness and understand my desire for freedom!
Thank you Marseille and thank you JB!
See you both soon.
