2020, Nanterre: On a container. Painted background (original beige color) Hundreds of stainless steel folds. Painted birds. Self-drilling screw fixing. Scaffolding + Ladder equipment.
Thanks to the entire campus team for their invitation!
It was a great challenge to come and fix the folds with self-drilling screws in such a robust material!
I first had to repaint the bottom of the container. (Because yes, I like the folds to stand out on a gray or black background. This background is like our gray faces, the grayness of our cities or the darkness of our hearts, our sadness, our fears… Putting this darkness in the background is giving all its place to light, hope, joy, positivism.) Life and living things remain only an alternation of light and darkness, life and death, joys and sorrows anyway!
I hope the students on site enjoy the installation and are inspired by it!
